Sarah Parker
Artist - Illustrator - Designer
The art of making runs deep in my family. From a young age I was encouraged to be myself, and to make all of the art I could possibly make, so that’s exactly what I did. Drawing, painting, collage, sculpture; the variety of media available to create things is what had me continuously coming back for more. My love for art led me to pursue it further, and in 2015 I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Michigan State University. After school I began looking for art related jobs, and realized how much I needed Graphic Design knowledge. That’s when I decided to go back to school to get a certificate in Graphic Design.
Now that I'm finished going to school (for now), I'm pursuing a career in Graphic Design. Since graduating, I've had the wonderful opportunity to intern at Spartan Printing, Wharton Center for Performing Arts, and Edge Partnerships. Each of my internships helped me to refine my design skills and get on the job experience as a designer. In January of 2020, I began working part-time as a designer for a small screen printing shop. Eventually I would love to work as a freelance designer, illustrator, and creator. Starting this website is one of the ways I hope to reach that goal.
Outside of work, I will continue to create whenever I get the chance. I love painting, drawing, crafting, among many other forms of expression. Being an artist is just part of who I am, so no matter my career path, art will always be there.
